5 Smart Superbowl Snacks

If you're going to watch the Superbowl tonight like the rest of America, you're either rooting for the Patriots or desperately hoping that America's Nightmare loses. No matter who you cheer for tonight, everyone wants to watch a good and clean football game. What's arguably just as important are some tasty superbowl snacks–snacks that won't put you in a food coma until Tuesday.

1.Raw Vegetable Plate

You can find these pre-made at almost any grocery store. Typically they include: raw broccoli, snap peas, celery, baby carrots, cucumbers, and some dip.

2. Apple slices and Peanut butter

This snack requires minimum preparation and it's exactly what you need if you're running last minute preparations. It’s as easy as it sounds–apples served with peanut butter.

3. Cracker Witches

Spread peanut butter on saltines or your favorite crackers. For added flavor, add a sliced strawberry in between the two crackers.

4. Banana Chips

Slice bananas into ⅛ inch slices and lay on a greased baking sheet. Preheat oven to 200 degrees and bake for 2-3 hours until they are golden brown.

5. Dried Apples

Using the same principle as the bananas, you slice them thin ⅛ inch slices and put them on a baking sheet at 200 degrees for 2-3 hours.

Whatever team you cheer for, everyone can be a winner tonight with healthy and smart food. Although apples don't hit the spot like an everything-nacho, they also won't cause you to bust any buttons either.
